Worship Notes
Each week, the pastor who preaches posts a brief synopsis of the sermon for you to see the main points made during the sermon on Sunday morning.

Sermon Text: Luke 13.10-17

When you get up on Sunday morning do you say, "Hey it is Sunday. I've got to go to church today?" or did you say, "Hey it is Sunday. I get to go to church today."

God gave us the gift of Sabbath. This gift is for us to use. We can use this gift to relax, to rest, to socialize, to play and even to work. (Not too long ago we had a crew of 12 people from Bethlehem put a hard day of work in at a Habitat for Humanity build. From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. they worked very hard on the Sabbath Day.) So even work can be ok. Why?

Because "keeping Sabbath" is not so much about what we do, or what we do not do. Keeping the Sabbath is about "doing it." Keeping the Sabbath is about  honoring God. And we can honor God in many varied and different ways. So we pray that God will help us to "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy" by taking time to honor God through this very special gift.

Blessings in honoring the Sabbath.
